WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE MBA PROGRAMME.
The programme is offered at INtel College.
Candidates eligible to join the Programme must have a first
degree from a recognized university, be at least 23 years of
age and have a minimum of 2 years of working experience at a
senior level.
Candidates with an Advanced or Higher Diploma with extensive
work experience at senior management level will also be considered
for entry to the Programme.
APPLYING FOR THE MBA PROGRAMME
Download an application pack from www.inteluni.ac.ke
or pick up an application pack from the Institute. Application
forms must be submitted in duplicate, along with 3 passport
size photographs, a recently updated CV, a reference letter
from your current employer or if in Business, a Professional
reference letter. Completed application forms should be submitted
to INtel College with an application fee of KShs 1500 (Kenya
Shillings one thousand five hundred). The College will forward
all application forms to the University for Admission.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAMME RUN
Intakes for the year 2009 are : 21 April 2009, 27 July 2009
and 19 October 2009.
Students who successfully complete the Programme will be eligible
for a UK Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies after stage
I and for the MBA, University of Sunderland after Stage II.
The MBA Programme is divided into 2 stages. Stage I comprises
9 subjects and stage II comprises 4 subjects plus a dissertation.
The Programme is part time comprising 2 evenings per week (
530pm to 8pm) and Saturday mornings.
EXEMPTIONS
Exemptions are possible in the first stage for candidates with
suitable post graduate qualifications recognised by the University.
On submission of the application, the University will determine
exemptions to candidates, if eligible.
For e.g. Students with CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing,
UK) qualifications will be eligible for exemption from 5 of
the 9 units in stage I.
Students with an EDEXCEL BTEC Post Graduate Diploma in Management
Studies (NVQ Level 7) will be eligible
Students with a Post Graduate qualification from a recognised
examination body.
WHAT DO MY FEES PROVIDE ME WITH?
Your fee includes a vast number of services such as enrolment
on the programme, tuition in each of the subjects, use of the
facilities at INtel including use of the computer labs and the
Internet. The fees also include examinations, forwarding of
your assignments, exams to the University, administration services,
and access to the University on-line library.
Each student will also be provided with an essential textbook
as part of the course.
HOW DO WORKING PEOPLE MANAGE TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAMME?
The programme schedule requires students to be available 1 or
2 evenings per week from 530pm to 8pm and on Saturday mornings
for lectures. Therefore this is a programme that allows a person
to work and study as well. However, please keep in mind, that
while this is the time for lectures, you will be expected to
spend time in reading and preparation for each lecture.
STAGE I: MBA Programme
On successful completion of stage I, candidates will receive
the EDEXCEL Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies:

4. Strategic Planning and Implementation
5. Managing Financial Principles and
6. Human Resources Planning and Development
7. Leadership of your organisation
8. Strategic Marketing Management

STAGE I Fees:
Kenya Shillings 267,200/-
Includes admission fee, Library membership for one year, Book
loan Programme, i.e. each student loaned the essential text
book for the subject that they are taking at the time, internet/
lab use, use of College facilities, and examination and registration
fees for first year.
STAGE II
On successful completion, students will receive their MBA, a
general MBA- of the University of Sunderland)
Subjects are:
1. Modelling for Decision Making
2. International Business Environment
3. Global Corporate Strategy
4. Applied Research Methods for Business Management
5. Dissertation
STAGE II Fee:
UK 3500 pounds plus a local fee of KShs 36,000/- This includes
Book loan, internet/lab use, and access to the University of
Sunderland electronic library, examination and registration
fees.
Fees may be paid in instalments. Instalment forms are available
on request from the Administration.

WHERE IS THE COLLEGE?
The college is located in Westlands off General Mathenge Road,
Westlands just 5 minutes from the Sarit Centre by car. If you
are taking public transport, then take Matatu number 118 and
get off at Intel Stage on Lower Kabete Road. As you alight,
you will see a signboard that says INTEL Computers. Follow the
signboards onto General Mathenge Drive and then make your next
left. This will take you right up to the college. It is only
a 5-minute walk from the Matatu stage.
If you are coming by Private Transport, take Lower Kabete Road,
off Sarit Centre Roundabout. You will pass Caltex Petrol Station
on your left. Make your next right onto General Mathenge Drive
and then your next left. This will take you to the college.
